2010 streetfighter diary

The Ace Cafe's Streetfighter and Stunt Festival, undoubtedly the most exciting event on the 2010 streetfighter diary, was held at Wembley last weekend.

New Lings Triumph signed rider, Paul “Hanksy” Hanks, following up his first outing on the Lings Bolddog Triumph Street Triple R at the Isle of Man TT, by blowing away the opposition. After finishing first in the longest stoppie competition, Paul went on to qualify in second place in the freestyle competition.

French rider Julien Welsch, also on a Triumph Street Triple R, took second place in the longest stoppies. It was in fact Hanksy that set the Triumph trend a few months ago. Julien had previously contacted Paul about using the Triumph Street Triple as a stunt bike and Paul helped Julien set the Street Triple up for stunting.

In the Final, Paul finished top Brit, starting his run as a clear International leader ahead of all the International competitors, however after a slip during a technical trick, this eventually pushed him third overall in the International standings behind the two French riders, but still finishing the top Brit. Julien proudly finished with his first podium and the highest scoring Triumph rider!

The new Street Triple R has created so much interest, and now seems to be the stunt bike to have. Paul has been inundated with riders, the press and the general public even as far away as the states asking him about his bike.

Paul’s next outing on the Triumph is at Elvington Airfield this weekend to compete in the second round of the UK championship series where he is currently leading, and Julien is returning home to practice hard before travelling to Poland next week to take part in a competition there.
