More than 370 speed cameras are to be switched off from April 1 in the biggest camera cutback since 1992.

A survey of the 37 speed camera partnerships in England and Wales found they were cutting the number of operational fixed sites by nearly 10% following a reduction in central government funding.

In most cases the camera housing will remain but the photographic equipment will be removed.

Motorcycle sales were 29.2% better than a year ago, while moped sales increased by 10.6%.

Small motorcycles are the ones that are leading the sales charge. Motorcycles between 50cc and 125cc saw the biggest growth, with a 44.5% increase compared to last January.
These areas are Adventure Sport (52%), Scooter (43%) and Supersport (41.5%)," said the MIC in a press release. Scooters accounted for the highest number of registrations in January (958 machines) followed by the Naked sector (732).
Honda had the most number of registrations in January thanks to the Honda CBF 125cc, which had the highest number of registrations of any motorcycle. Yamaha and Triumph were next in line, both with impressive January numbers.

With 7,564 bikes registered in the final quarter of 2010, Triumph took the top slot, followed by Honda with 7,283, BMW with 6,704, Suzuki with 6,496 and Yamaha with 6,199.

The overall motorcycle sales chart is dominated by 125cc motorcycles, which puts Yamaha 1st.

With the decline in sportsbike sales and rise in market share of both the Naked and Adventure market, those focused on superbikes have been hit the hardest. my street triple r hasnt moved since early november due to the british weather.
Well today finally got out for a quick ride.
The bike started first time no problems at all,the battery hasnt been charged (full or trickle) in nine weeks.
I have heard some complaints about battery life on the street but i cannot fault it.
Tyre pressures were very low so bear that in mind if yours has been sitting for a while.

Triumph, which makes 17 models, said the Street Triple roadster was its biggest seller in the UK last year, making up almost a quarter of UK sales. It is due to launch its eagerly-anticipated Tiger 800 next week.
